Ethos Media S.A., the organiser of the renowned Money Conferences, is organising the Energy Money Conference for the second consecutive year. This year's conference is entitled "The new Energy hub of Europe in the Mediterranean". The conference will take place on Tuesday 27 November 2012 at the Ethniki Conference Centre (Syggrou Avenue, 103 - 105).
Energy policy and planning in Greece is framed by a new legislative framework for the liberalisation of the energy market, and the transposition of the EU third energy package into Greek National Law, since the summer of 2011 when Law 4001 was adopted.
Important developments are expected in major energy projects regarding privatisations, investments in renewable energy sources, and investment attraction processes in terms of locating and exploiting hydrocarbon reserves. These are either on-going projects, or projects that have already been announced and need to be rapidly implemented after the formation of the new Greek government and the completion of the recapitalisation of Greek banks.
Thus, Greece could constitute a new powerful hub in terms of locating, producing, transferring and exporting energy that could indisputably contribute to its energy balance, as well as to the economic reconstruction of Greece in the medium term.
TOPICS
The conference panels will include the following topics:
Panel I: Developments in the energy market and implications for the EU's energy security and the economic recovery of Greece
Panel II: Investments and privatisations in the Energy sector
Panel III: From smart meters to smart cities
Panel IV: Major large-scale energy infrastructure projects and finance
Panel V: Energy saving possibilities at the state and private level. |
